about the windows warning
Windows warns you during installation?
Patchbay is not yet signed with a publisher certificate, so SmartScreen shows the “Windows protected your PC” warning. This is normal for new applications without a commercial certificate — we say it upfront instead of hiding it.
To install: click “More info”, then “Run anyway”. To verify the file has not been tampered with, compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one in the SHA256SUMS file published next to the binaries.
If you would rather skip the installer warning, take the portable build: a single exe with no installation (updated manually).
about the macos warning
macOS refuses to open the app?
The macOS beta is not signed with an Apple Developer certificate yet, so Gatekeeper shows a warning on first launch. This is normal for an unsigned beta — we say it upfront instead of hiding it.
To launch: right-click Patchbay.app →
“Open” → confirm “Open” in the dialog. You only
need to do this once — afterwards the app opens normally. If
there is no “Open” item, clear the quarantine flag in Terminal:
xattr -cr /Applications/Patchbay.app.
To verify the file has not been tampered with, compare its SHA-256 checksum with the one in the SHA256SUMS file published next to the binaries. Once the build is signed (by 1.0) the warning goes away and updates become automatic.
